Investment / Business Visa

An Investment & Business Visa allows foreign entrepreneurs and investors to enter and stay in a country to set up, manage, or invest in businesses, facilitating activities like exploring markets, purchasing goods, attending meetings, or creating jobs, differing from work visas by focusing on capital deployment and economic contribution rather than direct employment in a local job. These visas help foreigners access new markets, create opportunities, and sometimes offer pathways to residency (like Australia's 188 visa or US EB-5), though some are non-immigrant (like US E-Visas).

Key Characteristics:

  • Purpose: To invest capital, start or buy businesses, conduct trade, or manage overseas operations in the host country.
  • Activities Covered: Setting up ventures, attending trade shows, recruitment, quality control, technical guidance, and managing investments.
  • Not for: Petty trading or taking up standard employment, which usually require different visas (like a work visa).

Types of Visas:

  • Non-Immigrant: Temporary visas, like the US E-Visa, that allow for extended stays but don't directly lead to permanent residency.
  • Immigrant: Visas, like Australia's permanent subclass 888 or the US EB-5, that can lead to permanent residency or citizenship.
